Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Reef Addiction website or placing an order. By accessing our website or purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

1. About Us

Reef Addiction is a UK-based online marine aquatics retailer specialising in live fish, corals, invertebrates, equipment, and accessories for reef and marine aquarium enthusiasts.

2. Eligibility

By using our website, you confirm that:

You are at least 18 years of age.
You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract under UK law.
You are purchasing for personal or domestic use, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
You are resident in a jurisdiction where the purchase and keeping of the livestock or products ordered is lawful.

We reserve the right to decline orders from customers who do not meet these criteria.

3. Orders & Payment

Placing an Order

All orders placed through our website constitute an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order at our discretion. A contract is formed only when we confirm your order by email.

Pricing

All prices are displayed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a pricing error is identified after your order is placed, we will contact you before processing.
Promotional prices are valid only for the stated period and cannot be applied retrospectively.

Payment

Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.
We accept major credit and debit cards and other payment methods displayed at checkout, including Klarna. Use of Klarna is subject to their Terms and Conditions.
All transactions are processed securely. We do not store your full card details.

Order Cancellations

You may cancel an order before it has been dispatched by contacting us at Info@reefaddiction.co.uk.
Once dispatched, orders cannot be cancelled. Please refer to our Returns Policy.
We reserve the right to cancel any order due to stock unavailability, pricing errors, or suspected fraudulent activity, with a full refund issued.

4. Shipping & Delivery

Dispatch & Timescales

We aim to dispatch orders promptly, subject to stock availability and livestock health checks.
Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout but are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers, adverse weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Live Animal Shipments

Live animals are shipped using specialist insulated packaging with heat or cool packs as appropriate to the season.
It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available to receive the delivery on the expected day. Missed deliveries of live animals may result in losses for which we cannot accept liability.
We do not ship live animals to all locations. Availability will be confirmed at checkout.

Risk & Title

Risk of loss or damage to goods passes to you upon delivery.
Ownership of goods passes to you once full payment has been received.

Damaged or Missing Items

If your order arrives damaged or items are missing, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photographic evidence. We will investigate and arrange a resolution as appropriate.

5. Live Animals

Accuracy of Listings

All live animals are sold as described. We make every effort to accurately represent livestock through photographs and descriptions, however natural variation in colour, size, and pattern may occur.

Suitability

It is your responsibility to ensure that any livestock purchased is suitable for your aquarium setup, water parameters, and existing inhabitants. Reef Addiction accepts no liability for losses arising from incompatibility or unsuitable tank conditions.

Acclimation

We strongly recommend following our Acclimation Guide upon receipt of all livestock. Failure to properly acclimate animals may result in stress or loss, for which we cannot accept responsibility.

Dead on Arrival (DOA)

In the event that livestock arrives deceased, our DOA Policy applies. Claims must be submitted within the timeframe specified in that policy. Starting the acclimation process voids any DOA claim.

Animal Welfare

Reef Addiction is committed to responsible sourcing and the welfare of all livestock. We reserve the right to refuse sale of any animal we deem unsuitable for a customer's stated setup.

6. Returns & Refunds

Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with our Returns Policy.

In summary:

Non-live goods may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused and in original condition.
Live animals cannot be returned due to their nature.
Faulty or incorrectly sent items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of approval.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 are not affected by this policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including but not limited to text, product descriptions, photographs, videos, logos, graphics, and branding — is the property of Reef Addiction or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content from this website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Personal, non-commercial use (e.g. sharing a product link) is permitted.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

Reef Addiction shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our website, products, or services.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total value of that order.
We make no warranty that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for ensuring your device is adequately protected.
